Ijoukak Valley - Tinmel Mosque - Assif Nfis

Ijoukak is situated on the high atlas mountains above the meeting points of the Agoundis and Nfis valleys, and offers an alternative, less trodden trekking route up to Jebel Toubkal. Ijoukak used to be one of the crosspoint of the carravanes between south-west of Morocco and Marrakech city, this valleyis very rich of olive trees, also the geology of the area has an amazing formations.The village is a busy tea and tagine stop between Marrakech and Taroudannt. The Tin Mal Mosque is about 8km (5 miles) southwest from Ijoukak, Tinmels mosque was built in 1153 by Abdel Moumen, the founder of the Almouhad dynasty, in memory of Mahdi Ibn Toumart.
